common questions
Can you remove a load-bearing wall?
Yes — we do this regularly to open up floor plans. It involves a properly sized beam, engineering, and permits, all of which we coordinate. Done right, it's routine; done wrong, it's a serious problem — which is why we never shortcut it.
Do you do seismic retrofits?
Yes. Many East Bay homes predate modern seismic standards, and foundation bolting, cripple-wall bracing, and related strengthening are core structural work for us.
What are signs of foundation problems?
Common signs include cracks in walls or concrete, doors and windows that stick, and sloping floors. Not every crack is serious — we'll give you a straight assessment of what matters and what doesn't.
